Small non-profit organizations (NPOs) are crucial for addressing specific social issues within their communities but often face a significant lack of resources compared to their larger counterparts. This deficit can hinder their ability to effectively serve their target populations and achieve their mission. There is a clear need to provide these smaller NPOs with targeted support to build their internal capabilities.
Our solution is the Broadening Outreach Scheme, a pilot project that provides small NPOs with training, grants, and coaching to build essential capabilities in areas like administration, strategy, and fundraising. The project’s conceptual framework is inspired by the strategy game of Go, which rewards careful positioning, adaptability, and the mastery of incremental progress. By adopting this philosophy, the platform enables businesses and individuals to help small NPOs navigate a step-by-step progression toward sustainable growth, ultimately enhancing their service delivery and making a greater social impact.
